Jet of the Day: Debra's Divine Designs

Our Debra, of Debra's Divine Designs  is the Jet of the Day today. She has become well known for her remarkable butterfly pendants, but she has also honed her talents in
in many other jewelry media. First, a delight for your eyes, then, more about this artist.

Important Disclaimer
ALL butterflies  used are farmed and not wild caught so that the natural populations of the butterflies are not being depleted by poachers. This dried insect was purchased through a permitted and licensed dried bug supplier. Debra purchases broken bugs that collectors can't use and utilizes them in her artwork.Through her art, this provides an opportunity for to promote stewardship and conservation of each Butterfly and to educate people about the risks that many are facing.

As I mentioned, Debra, a self-taught artist, creates beauty with any material she touches!  Her collections range from her signature real winged butterfly pendants, to  Copper wire work; argentium sterling silver twisted bracelets; and  fused  and dichroic glass.

Here she works fused glass. In these little glass earrings, Debra worked with clear glass and sprinkled  just a bit of crushed red glass (frit) in between the layers of the glass. She then kiln-heated and annealed the pieces  to form these lovely glittery, clear, light-filled earrings.

Debra is incredibly skilled in wire work too. This Blue Skies Sterling Silver Bezel Weave Pendant combines her glass-work with a hand woven wire bezel.

In every collection, Debra is devoted to  creating with nothing less than complete artistic integrity and the finest of materials.
