This morning we're going to take a look inside Metalicious! This shop grows steadily, and every time we visit there are new designs to check out. This jewelry artisan loves to work in metal, with just a few gemstones in some pieces to add a bit of color. Her designs are usually made in silver; the sparkling white metal puts an emphasis on her urban and sculptural designs in a very natural manner, allowing the eye to appreciate the appearance of her fabulous handcrafted jewelry instead of focusing on the materials used to create it. The Wrought Sterling Ring shown in the featured photo is a great example of this. It would be easy to imagine this piece cast in yellow gold, with small rubies or other gemstones set into the spaces around the center. Instead, the ring is a wonderful, flowing sterling silver piece that pleases the eye and allows the beautiful design to take center stage - exactly as it should. Sometimes less IS more; this is one of those pieces that just stands out from the crowd! This metalsmith's shop is arranged in collections, or design lines. Today I'm peeking into MarcieJaneDesigns to see what's new! This jewelry artisan has been busy adding new techniques to her skill set and she's using them to create some fabulous new necklaces, earrings and bracelets that I know you're going to love! Originally a bead artist, Marcie Jane has become quite a metalworker. She has a great eye for design and her pieces show it!
