It's Good Friday, and for Christians it's time to think about the significance of the Easter cross. For those of us in the Northern Hemisphere, it's also time to think about new birth and rebirth, with birds beginning to nest, the arrival of baby lambs and spring bulbs at last emerging from the cold earth.
