Sunday Style - Floral Fashions and Studs

Hello and welcome to another edition of Sunday Style! The winter has been long this year. It’s been so cold and so snowy and - quite frankly - blah. I’m ready for some vibrant flowers, and so are designers like Michael Kors and Fendi. Exuberant floral designs are everywhere this spring! The newer looks have darker backgrounds - black, navy, or blue. Examples of this trend from Etsy include a stunning midi dress (1) from AnnaClothing and a darling pencil skirt (12) from SmileandMuse, and these fantastically fun floral leggings (4) from ThiefandBandit. I also love a big shirt, like the amazing floral shirt (3) from LikeLifeStreetwear.

Since these beautiful floral prints can be a little overwhelming, we need to add balance. Effortless elegant jewelry and nude-colored make-up will keep these flowery fashions fresh. Stud earrings are very on trend, and go perfectly with floral fashions! But if you haven’t worn studs since they were shot into your earlobes when you first got them pierced, you might not know about all of the beautiful designs available. VenusVelvet has a line of modern earrings that have interesting carved circle details, available in both shiny silver (2) and black patina (13) finish.

The cute navy blue floral studs (14) from TheBrassHussy would complement any of the looks featuring a blue or navy background, while LeesEarring Boutique offers black onyx studs (5) to go with all the dramatic black florals. The turquoise blue of the prints in the A-line skirt (8) from AuntJaq or the maxi jumpsuit (16) from Pachanel, would look stunning with some turquoise studs (11).

The trendiest way to wear studs is mismatched. By mismatched, I mean you can mix up two totally different pairs or go with a matched mismatched set such as the screw studs (7) from AuntMatildasJewelry, that feature one Philips head and one flathead screw! Or how about the heart shaped studs (9) by BrookeJewelry, which have an X and an O! Just add a nude lip and nails, and you are ready for spring - even if you are stepping outside to a blizzard! Try the nude lipstick (15) from DNACosmetics, or the lip gloss (6) by mojospa, with a nail lacquer (10) from DarksideLacquers.

See you next week!
Lori
